AFI DCL PROJECT INITIATORS

AFI Digital Content Lab selects projects for prototyping on the basis of their potential for innovation, ability to inspire community enthusiasm and the likelihood of eventual deployment. Project initiators include, but are not limited to, TV producers and networks, filmmakers and film studios, mobile content developers and distributors, broadband entertainment services and console game developers. Most project initiators come to the Lab with media assets that can be augmented within the Lab setting. Occasionally, when the potential for innovation is compelling, the Lab accepts projects that require the development of original content.

AFI DCL MENTORS

AFI Digital Content Lab mentors are top-tier working professionals from the production, design, technology and business strategy sectors. Mentors are chosen on the basis of experience, vision and a commitment to elevating digital media as an art form. Volunteering for development cycles lasting three to six months, mentors conceive and produce working prototypes that serve as proofs of concept for emerging digital media solutions. Over the past decade, hundreds of participating individuals and companies have contributed to groundbreaking solutions, acquired new skills and forged fruitful relationships with others among the AFI Digital Content Lab creative community.
