The AFI Campus and Facilities

Located in the hills overlooking Hollywood, AFI's wooded and intimate eight-acre Campus is in close proximity to the heart of the professional filmmaking community, with easy access to studios, networks and numerous post-production facilities. Each year, film-makers and filmgoers converge on Hollywood for 11 days in November for the AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival. AFI FEST is held at the Arclight Cinemas, home of the recently renovated historic Cinerama Dome. The AFI Life Achievement Award Tribute is telecast from the Kodak Theatre in a new complex at Hollywood & Highland, where the annual Academy Awards¨ are also held.

Warner Communications/Warner Bros. Building
The large, central Warner Communications/Warner Bros. Building houses a sound stage, classrooms, screening rooms, production offices, computer labs and the majority of AFI's administrative staff.

The Manor House
Located on the eastern edge of the Campus, the Manor House includes Conservatory classroom space and production equipment storage, as well as the offices of AFI FEST, AFI Screen Education and AFI New Media Ventures.

Louis B. Mayer Library
Housing unique reading, reference and research materials, the Louis B. Mayer Library supports the AFI Conservatory curriculum and related programs. With its extensive and historical collection of books, videos, DVDs, scripts and film artifacts-including more than 14,000 books on various aspects of film, television, video and cable, as well as on subjects such as photography, theater and production design-the Library serves as a central Campus gathering place. The Mayer Library also houses several special collec-tions: The Martin Scorsese Collection, The Charles K. Feldman Collection, The Robert Aldrich Collection, The Fritz Lang Collection, The Levinson/Link Collection and the Sergei Eisenstein Collection. The Library building also houses the HBO Pavilion, the Mark Goodson Screening Room, the Screen Actors Guild Conservatory, the Frankovich-Barnes Screening Room and the AFI Enhanced Television Lab.

Sony Video Center
The Sony Video Center houses AFI's post-production facilities, embracing the entire spectrum of contemporary non-linear digital editing, including the latest Avid Symphony editing systems networked by the Avid Unity media storage system. Such advanced pro-fessional level technology is rare at educational institutions.
