American Airlines has had a long history in film — from the introduction of the Astrovision in-flight movie projection system in 1964 all the way into the 21st century. American Airlines has supported the art of filmmaking throughout the years and celebrates those who make it possible.

American Airlines is proud to continue this tradition by supporting the American Film Institute, a national nonprofit open to the public that relies on the generosity of individuals and corporations to preserve the history of American film, educate the next generation of storytellers and honor the artists and their work. Through this special alliance, American Airlines is able to champion these important initiatives.

With nearly 700 destinations served by American Airlines and its oneworld alliance network, American Airlines travels to all AFI event locations throughout the United States.
